A Relaxed Intimate Day with a Small Group of Family and Friends

Trebah, so unique

After visiting all wedding venues in Falmouth, Trebah was the most unique they fell in love with it instantly and knew it was ‘the one’. Both loved the backdrop of stunning views across the sub-tropical gardens to the private beach.

"It’s not a wedding venue that you’ve ‘heard of’ or been to before. None of our guests had ever been to a wedding a Trebah before which in itself was nice as there were no preconceived ideas or comparisons. The venue room itself is bright, airy, modern and intimate. It is just truly beautiful."

Tracey Warbey Photography

Kyle found Tracey on Facebook by admiring her previous work and her style was exactly what they were looking for.

"We loved that Tracey took natural shots with elegant and subtle editing that captured the day. They say a picture says a thousand words, Tracey's work does just that. She was a delight to work with, very personable, it was with ease we rearranged due to COVID too"

Theme Cornish, Natural and Outdoors

Nicole and Kyle didn’t want the pressure of a big party that went on all day and into the evening preferring instead to celebrate getting married with their closest friends and family, so their day had a relaxed intimate vibe.

The Grazing Table

For their reception, they chose to have a grazing table assembled with hessian, tree trunks, wooden boxes, slate and with natural leaf pressed plates and wooden and bamboo cutlery for an eco outdoor vibe.

The grazing menu included rustic artisan rolls, a selection of meats and antipasti, tropical fruits, pretzels, fudge, nuts, finished with a Marks and Spencers wedding cake and a  Cornish cheese tower from The Cheese Shed.

"We opted for a grazing table as they look beautiful compared to a simple buffet. But they offer the same concept of ‘finger foods’ to give our guest a little nibble with their champagne."

Nicole is an avid cheese lover so a cheese tower had to be included!

"We had seen many at wedding fairs but the Cheese Shed lets you select the cheeses you want and the size, perfect for a more intimate wedding."

Planning to go ahead during COVID

Alex at Trebah was a lifeline of constant reassurance during such difficult times answering the phone to Nicole, morning, noon and night.

"I often cried down the phone to her with the uncertainty and constant changes but she assured me and worked with me every step of the way. I knew she would make our day happen the way we wanted it. She helped us rearrange the wedding with such ease. Nothing was too much to ask."

The Flowers

"Jutta at Florescere was so attentive and really captured what I wanted for our wedding bouquet and flowers"

Nicole had an hour-long consultation with Florescere and Jutta showed her lots of different styles, types and colours of flowers.

Once a decision had been made COVID hit and the wedding was moved to a different season so the flowers Nicole had chosen were out of season.

"The end result was better than I could have ever envisaged. Our flowers were truly beautiful and perfect. Jutta’s communication throughout was superb."

The dress

Nicole purchased her dress from Wed2b in Exeter in July 2019. She chose a dress called Jourdan. This is the official description.  It's all about the illusion neckline for a striking detail on this sheath gown. With the stylish embroidered back and intricately detailed sleeves, this gown is a real masterpiece.

"I chose this dress as I am a classic “hourglass” and the crepe and lace fabric fitted in all the right places. I loved this dress from the moment I put it on. It was the first dress I tried."

The suit

Kyle wore a blue three-piece suit with tan brogue shoes, white shirt and finished with a pale floral pink tie and pocket square.

Favourite part of the day

"My favourite part of the day was walking through the gardens down to the beach in the gorgeous sunshine, having a paddle in the sea with my dress on and after a few pictures turned around and was greeted with the whole beach of strangers applauding and cheering!

Kyles was favourite part was seeing me at the end of the aisle! (Maybe I’m supposed to say the same about seeing him!)"

Top Tips

"It’s your day and it’s about you. Go for what you truly want not what you think you have to have or do.
Something will go not according to plan on the day. But a new plan will form immediately! And it won’t bother you at all.

If you need to reduce your numbers, your guests will understand and will be grateful they are still invited even if their partners or children are no longer!"
