Rebekah and Steve’s Intimate Wedding

Rebekah and Steve chose their venue on the strength that it was so intimate, romantic and uniquely different.

the Lower Barns website pictures captivated Rebekah. They both wanted a small intimate wedding coupled with the elopement feel this venue promised to offer all of those desires.

After making a pre-visit to meet the hosts and see the venue for real, they were gobsmacked.

"Totally delighted and emotional at the ambience this place emitted. We were in total awe of the little gem we had discovered and were going to have as our wedding venue."

They chose Arianna Fenton Photography and she totally put them at ease

Rebekah and Steve chose Arianna as their wedding photographer based on her style and because she can happily mingle into the background.

"I'm not comfortable with being in front of a camera in any situation. I had seen images of a photo-shoot Arianna took part in at Lower Barns on their website and loved the look of her images. This encouraged me to resource her via her own website.

Arianna was completely relaxed and unobtrusive. She snapped away capturing all the precious moments as they happened without it being staged. The photos were fabulous, totally natural. She made us feel so at ease which was important.

We choose to have some prompted photos, however, these were still relaxed and light-hearted."

Arianna also took Rebekah and Steve to the beach for a small photo session at their request and just let them enjoy the time alone while she took pictures of them doing what they wanted.

"Even our choice of special family photos that we requested were done in a natural way where Arianna just let us be natural and then she snapped away when she could see the time was right."

Rebekah and Steve live in Somerset and sourced suppliers near or within the Cornwall by searching on Google, but many of their suppliers were selected by recommendations from the venues own website.

Hair and makeup

Rebekah chose Hair by Emmac for her wedding hair and wedding makeup was by Suzi Winter

"Get your hair and makeup done by the professionals. They really do make you look and feel a million dollars...mine did anyway lol."

The dress.

Rebekah looked at many dresses via the normal bridal shops and boutiques. Everything was lacey and “on-trend” which wasn’t what she was drawn to. She wanted simple elegance with a train and this idea inspired her to start looking into private sales.

She found a dress that she liked the look of, and when the dress arrived, it took her breath away. She loved it!

Rebekah really wanted a tiara and veil and she found just what she was looking for in a local bridal boutique in Somerset.

"I took my dress to The Bridal Rooms when trying on Tiaras and veils to get the perfect look. The owner is also a seamstress and made alterations to the length for me."

Top tip for brides

"All I can say is enjoy every moment. It really does whizz by and unfortunately, you don’t get to have another go.

Write your own vows. We wrote both vows and ring vows, this is so personal and for us, it was romantic and intimate.

Have exactly what you envisage for your day, don’t have regrets afterwards over something that you” wished” you had or done.

Remember: It’s about what you and your husband to be want, not everyone else! Don’t be influenced!"

Top tip for grooms.

"Don't be silly and drink too much. Relax and enjoy the day. Polish your shoes lol, and remember to take the sticker off the bottom!!!

Look at your bride and not the registrar when you say your vows."
