Tredudwell Manor Emma and Patrick

Tredudwell Manor ticked all their boxes!

It could easily fit all their guests with plenty of space to celebrate inside and out. Knowing what the Cornish weather can be like, they wanted to be somewhere where they could still have a great time with all their friends and family even if it tipped it down all day. The venues large wedding barn was the perfect space not to mention the large gardens outside!

"The views across the Cornish coastline from the venue are stunning, and the option to have a photoshoot along the nearby coastal path was a great bonus."

Wedding Photography

Emma and Patrick chose Sofie Michelle Photography, they would not describe themselves as particularly "posey", so they really wanted a photographer who would take natural shots. Shots where they were simply relaxed and happy and enjoying their big day.

"Sofie managed to do this perfectly. She took some lovely and funny shots of us and our guests while also making the most of the surrounding scenery – perfect when you're getting married in Cornwall! She's very relaxed and fun to be around, so it didn't feel imposing at all."

Their Theme

They weren't originally planning for a particular theme, but it ended up being a mixture of festival and tropical.

"We got engaged at Glastonbury Festival underneath the big Glastonbury Festival sign, so wanted to do something that would give the nod to that."

The table plan followed a festival theme, and each table was named after the different stages at Glastonbury. And the tropical theme came from their flowers.

"We were originally going to get married in August (until Covid-19 put a stop to that!), so we really wanted to do something summery that would fit in with the festival vibe."

The Flower Press Shop

Emma can't give enough praise to Ellie at The Flower Press Shop.

"Ellie is so talented. She took my jumbled ideas and requests and turned them into something far more beautiful than I could have ever imagined! She was so patient and quick to respond when I kept making last-minute changes and requests. We got so many compliments on the flowers – they were so unique.

With all the excitement on the day, Emma didn't get a chance to look at the flowers properly before leaving for the Church Ceremony. So one of her first memories was arriving at Tredudwell Manor and being distracted by the beautiful arrangements. All the while, her family and friends were trying to talk to her!

videography Laura Sonntag

Laura Sonntag, their videographer, also really stood out for Emma and Patrick.

"She has a unique style of making fun and non-cheesy wedding videos, unlike anything I've seen before. She really cares about her work – she asked to come with us to the Church for the rehearsal the day before, just to get a feel for the place. An added bonus is that she's hilarious!

A WEDDING FEAST AND A COOKERY CLASS!

Rupert of Philleigh Way Cookery School did a great job with their wedding feast. He even threw in a free day of cookery school as a wedding present!

"We had a lovely time making some tasty desserts. A lovely activity for anyone having a honeymoon in Cornwall!"

The Dress

"I had no idea what kind of dress I wanted when I started looking but ended up going for something quite simple and classic. I really liked the high neckline and the low back. It's the first dress that felt right when I tried it on!"

TOP TIP

Emma dress was from the international bridal brand Made With Love Bridal #mwlgirls. She bought it second hand from Still White, the UK's largest wedding dress marketplace, and she saved money!

Accessories

As the dress was backless, Emma chose a back necklace that went down her back and wrapped around my front bought on Etsy.

"It really caught my eye because I'd never really seen anything like it, and it seemed so unique. I got a lot of compliments on it, and it went so well with the dress!"

Favourite part of the wedding

"It keeps changing for me, and I find it difficult to choose one part. We left the Church to "Good Vibrations" by The Beach Boys. It felt like such a happy moment, and our guests started clapping along to the beat.

I also loved dancing towards the end of the day. We had so much fun and finally felt able to let my hair down once we had nothing left to do but dance! Truly Medley Deeply as our wedding band, and they were so much fun. The dance floor was full up all night. It was an amazing atmosphere."

The wedding speeches

"Patrick's favourite part was the speeches. We had speeches from my dad, myself, Patrick, and his two best men. And our friend Gill also acted as the compere. She wrote some funny poems between each speech which everyone loved!"

Here at eeek! HQ we loved watching their wedding video and if you haven't already we recommend you watch it... Patrick. Patrick, Patrick, Patrick...Patrick, Patrick!!! Makes me giggle every time 😉

advice

It's so easy to want everything to be "perfect", but I'm yet to talk to any bride where the wedding went absolutely perfectly. Try and focus on all the fun and lovely moments throughout the day, and if anything goes wrong, don't dwell. Just laugh about it!

Also, less important, but I (and many other women) tend to wear high heels to weddings and then regret it later in the evening (we never learn) – a little box of flips flops always goes down a storm with women at any wedding. A kind and inexpensive gesture!"
