Tregedna Weddings Hollie and Caleb

Tregedna Weddings rustic, simple and beautiful

Hollie and Caleb chose Tregedna Weddings because they both loved the rustic, simple and beautiful setting; the venue is nestled in the Cornish countryside not far from the beach. Not overly fancy (which was good because that's what they didn't want), but what Tregedna Weddings does well is attention to detail!

"The venue has gorgeous wooden beams in the barn and the grass ledge overlooking the lovely fields where we played garden games was just perfect."

Hollie and Caleb also liked the added benefit of having their family and friends stay in the accommodation beneath the barn, which was so helpful, as it meant everyone could all be together the whole weekend with no extra fuss.

"A special shout out to Liz at Tregedna Weddings, who was so warm and friendly and went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed on the day. She made planning our day a breeze and was such a pleasure to work with."

Jonathon Cherry Photography

Hollie and Caleb chose their photographer partly because he is a friend, and both liked the idea that it was someone they knew taking their wedding photos.

"Jonathan has a really candid, relaxed style whilst ensuring we got the more posed shots we wanted."

The Vibe Cornish and Boho

A relaxed, fun and joyful day where everyone felt included and well-fed! Their theme was loosely Cornish and Boho with a blend of cream and forest green as the colour scheme. They also managed to include the seaside by painting everyone's names on mussel shells for their placenames.

A Cornish Cream Tea. Jam first!

The weddings guests were treated to a Cornish cream tea directly after the service at the church ( jam first! ), and then once everyone had moved onto Tregedna Weddings for the reception everyone had prosecco and warm cheese straws all homemade by Hollie's mum!

A Wedding Feast by Piglet Cottage

For the wedding breakfast, Hollie and Caleb chose Piglet Cottage Hog Roast with a selection of different side dishes.

"The side dishes were simply stunning, so many choices and all were decorated with edible flowers Piglet Cottage Hog Roast were absolutely amazing.

Shaun at Piglet Cottage went above and beyond in both the quality and presentation of the food. It was beyond our expectations for a humble hog roast! We are happy to say that all our suppliers were genuinely amazing!"

Bring your own Desserts!

Hollie and Caleb asked their guests to bring desserts, and they had a full range of so many different dessert options to choose from.

"Everyone brought their favourite thing that reflected their personality!"

The Cake

A friend made their beautiful wedding cake, they also had a sweetie table for the children (and all the children at heart!)

Keeping it Cornish

"For the evening reception, we had hot pasties delivered from the local Farm Shop. Keep it Cornish!"

The Dress

Hollies dress was a slight boho version of a traditional ballgown wedding dress, with a flowy skirt made almost entirely of tulle. The bodice was lace, with a tulle waistband to clench it in. A friend made Hollie the most beautiful floor-length veil, which she wore in her hair with gypsophila.

The Groom

Caleb's suit was a Next grey three-piece tweed; he sensibly chose a lighter tweed for the summer. The look was completed with a burgundy tie and brown leather shoes.

Accessories

Not being big on accessories, Hollie mainly focused on the flowers in her hair and the beautiful flowers in her bouquet.

"I don't really like wearing shoes, so I went barefoot, as that's how I feel most comfortable!"

Favourite part

Can I say the whole day?! Overall, there is something so beautiful about making your wedding vows in front of God to the person you love most in the world in front of all those who love you. Knowing that they are cheering you on and praying for you as you embark on this adventure.

Another cherished memory was walking hand in hand on Gylly beach in the sunshine and allowing the reality that we are husband and wife to sink in. I also loved our Kayleigh, where everyone got sweaty and danced like loons!

Top tip

Try not to stress about the little things. You honestly won't notice them on the day, and it is so much more about the beauty of saying your vows, who you are celebrating with and how you feel. What it's not about is the colour of the napkins!

Weddings a way of life for Caleb!

You would think this was the end of their wedding story, not for Caleb - Weddings are now a way of life...

"I loved our wedding video so much that I have become a wedding videographer myself! CalebMitchellVideo"

Congratulations to their chosen Videographer - Dave Stephenson Videography that must have been one amazing wedding video!!!
