Tregedna Weddings Jodie and Matt

Tregedna Weddings was the only venue for this couple

Having catered for a wedding at Tregedna in 2018, Jodie and Matt kept this unique venue in their minds for their special day.

"We loved the idea of having a completely blank canvas. We also wanted to cater our own wedding. If this sounds ambitious...it was, and we know that now!!!"

Jodie and Matt reached out to Liz, who was amazing and very helpful. They couldn't visit Tregedna immediately due to Covid restrictions; when they did, the new ceremony room was ready to view.

"The ceremony room was new since we were there, and we fell in love with it. It was perfect. We couldn't picture anywhere better for us than Tregedna, a big thank you to Liz!"

Pink Wave Photography

"I chose pink wave photography as I loved the style of their photos and knew they'd be a perfect fit for us! With Covid restrictions, we had to plan everything remotely via video, so we only met on the day! Amber and Tom were amazing and blended in – making for really fun shots!"

The Dress

Jodie's dress was from Bridal Studio, Helston; although Jodie had something different in mind, she fell in love with the dress she chose, loving how unusual it was. The dress had pearl detailing, and Jodie always had pearls as her first choice in accessories.

"It felt right, and I loved it. I had pearl shoes from Rainbow Club, and my something borrowed were beautiful pearl earrings from my sister-in-law.

One of my favourite things was my garter, handmade and gifted by Kyla at Roamer Rose; Kyla also did the alterations on my wedding dress".

The groom

Matt had his suit custom-made by Moss Bross and had our wedding date stitched into the suit, a detail that Jodie loved.

"Matt also wore a watch with a green face and pearl detailing, so he matched my accessories."

Wedding Makeup by

One of the first things Jodie booked after getting engaged was her makeup; she chose a good friend from school - Anna of Balance of Beautee.

"She's an absolute superstar! And luckily, she managed to fit us in."

hendra hair and beauty

Two of Jodie's other great friends were chosen to do the bridal party wedding hair.

A DIY Wedding

Jodie and Matt decorated Tregedna, did the bar and catered their wedding

They could not have done without the help of their amazing family, friends and staff (Jodie's father-in-law did cut himself with a Stanley blade the day before the big day and ended up in accident and emergency!!)

"We are incredibly lucky to have people around us that helped so much."

On the menu

Jodie and Matt served their Goan curry - a staple favourite at the pub they own, Victory Inn, St Mawes. They also chose to have a grazing table – with a whopping cheese wedding cake from the Greet Cheese Company, Truro (https://www.thegreetcheese.co.uk)

For those with a sweet tooth, there was a Mr Whippy machine, a sweet table, and a wedding cake with a gluten-free tier made by their friend Nicky.

And finally, for the evening meal, they brought their pizza oven and cooked pizzas (leaving plenty for guests to take home with them)

Wedding Flowers

During the summer, they ask Cornish Flower Patch to create flower displays at their pub. So Jodie asked if they would also do the wedding flowers. Her brief - she just wanted what was best for her on the day! That was it; she put total trust in them.

"I'm so glad I did; my bouquet was beautiful."

wedding scents

Wedding scents were gifted by Jodie's mum at Scentstore; every time they smell those scents, they are taken back to their perfect day at Tregedna.

The Wright Entertainment Company

Cozzie and Leroy (also great friends) planned the perfect ceremony music and DJ'd after the band. Leroy even drove Jodie and Matt to St Michael's Hotel at the end of the day!

"We had forgotten to book a taxi, oops!"

Favourite part of the day for Jodie

"My favourite part of the day was after our first dance. I looked around and saw all those we loved enjoying my favourite band, Rudi's Message, playing."

Advice

"It may seem stressful to DIY; we did love the idea, but perhaps if I had any advice, it would be to get a company to do the décor and don't do everything yourself!"
