Tregedna Weddings Vicky and Jack

It had to be Falmouth!

Jack grew up in Falmouth, so that's where they both decided to get married. They had a look around at the many different venues Falmouth has to offer then they found Tregedna Weddings, and both loved the venue and the flexibility it provides. Couples can decorate the day before, offer accommodation for two nights to their family and friends and have their ceremony all in one place.

"When Liz told us the loft conversion was happening complete with a wedding licence all in time for our wedding, we cancelled our original ceremony. We loved the idea of having it all in one place. Jack is also not keen on modern buildings, so the way the lodge looked with the beams and the original features was even more appealing."

A SPECIAL MENTION

"We would like to give a special mention to Liz at Tregedna Weddings, who was absolutely amazing from start to finish. We had to move our wedding from 2020 due to COVID, and she could not have been more accommodating. She responded to all of our questions and queries; she dealt very well with a bridezilla! Liz and the venue couldn't have been any better, and we are so grateful to her that she allowed us to have our dream wedding there and be a part of her history. We were the first couple to get married in The Loft, which made it even more special, and the little touches that Liz put on were absolutely amazing and just made it perfect."

Tim Woolcock Photography

A photographer recommendation and they were are so happy, they could not have asked for anyone better.

"We are so happy with the photos; we looked on his website before getting in touch. Tim was absolutely amazing on the day; he went above and beyond we couldn't have been happier. He didn't just do the photography; he helped out on the day if things needed doing, he was so friendly and polite, and we would definitely recommend him."

The Colours!

They didn't have a theme but chose their favourite colours and tried to make everything as simple and as effective as possible. With Jack being Cornish born and bred, they had to have cream teas and pasties and a trip to the beach!

The wedding Feast! A traditional buffet with a bit of a twist

A selection of continental cured meats and a range of local cheeses with crackers, bread, dips. The menu was a mix of what Jack and Vicky enjoy, Jack loves cured meats and cheeses, and Vicky is a pizza and dessert lover.

"Amy was amazing and made most of the food herself. She put her own twist on some of the things we wanted and made canapes, pizzas, salads, open sandwiches, pasta, and desserts. Amy catered to everyone's individual needs coming up with recipes for those who are gluten-free and offered many vegetarian options. The food was presented perfectly. This was her first wedding, and we could not have been happier."

Perfect Parties and Bars Southwest

"Tom from Perfect Parties put together a great playlist for our wedding matched to a few songs we gave him. The bar hire was also brilliant, serving teas and coffees, getting the ale Jack wanted and kept up with the demand for drinks all evening. Everyone was so reasonably priced for their services as well, which was a definite bonus."

The dress

Vicky chose a strapless A-line dress with lots of lace and decoration. Not the sort of dress that she would usually choose. She had tried a range of different styles, and it was the A-line cut that suited her body shape the most.

"I absolutely loved the detail on the dress, especially the bottom of it."

The Groom

Jack wore a charcoal grey suit, his waistcoat, cravat and a pocket square were electric blue matching our colour theme.

Accessories

Vicky wore a necklace and earring set that her parents gave her for her 'something new'. She wore a hairpiece and a veil in her simply styled wedding hair. She also wore two bracelets, one that Jack gave her in their first year together and the other from Jack's mum, her 'something borrowed.'

Favourite parts

"Thinking back on the day, there are so many moments that come to mind when I'm asked about my favourite part. The first dance, the photos on the beach, and the actually getting married part! All of these moments were perfect moments for me, and Jack shared with our closest family and friends.

Seeing Jack and walking down the aisle was so nerve-wracking, and standing up in front of everyone to say our vows also made me nervous but also so happy at the same time. We picked a song that we wanted to make special, and I still remember dancing with him before our family and friends joined us.

The photos at the beach were amazing! We took half an hour out just for us to capture our day, which I would recommend to anyone just to get away for a short time from the madness of the whole day!

Jack said his favourite moment was the first time he saw me just walking down the aisle. Another moment he said was when the registrar announced we were husband and wife and our walking out with our song 'Mr Blue Sky' playing. The morning of the wedding, it had been raining on and off, yet when we opened the door to go outside, the sun was shining!"

Top tips and advice

Everyone told me beforehand that the little things would not matter and not to stress about everything because, on the day, you will not notice it. I didn't believe them and stressed the day before, making sure we had everything, and everything was perfectly set up. A few little things weren't done on the day, which we didn't even notice until the day after; a few details were missed. We also couldn't have everything up outside due to the weather warning the morning of the wedding, but that didn't matter on the day. It was pushed to the back of our minds. Our friends and family were amazing in making everything come together, so we didn't have to worry about anything.

Make sure you enjoy every moment because it seemed like it was over so quickly, considering there is so much time spent planning. Take some time out just for you and your new husband because the whole madness of the day can be very overwhelming. Those moments just the two of you, will stay with you forever and make everything just that bit more special. We feel that we created a perfect wedding with our perfect venue. We are so happy with everything we chose. If we had gone with the original plan of our ceremony in a different location, it would have overshadowed the day and added more stress. Sometimes the more simple option is the best, and spending tens of thousands isn't needed to create your perfect day."
