Scorrier House Cody and Josh

"Scorrier House the staircase is breathtaking!"

Scorrier House is a beautiful exclusive use venue with guest accommodation which is very important to many couples. And as soon as Cody and Josh walked into Scorrier House they both knew it was the venue for them.

“The staircase is breathtaking! We both said instantly that we could see ourselves walking down the stairs to meet each other.

The owners were so kind and we were made to feel like our wedding was the most important one ever so we felt able to put our faith in them.”

Tom Robinson Photography

After meeting ALOT of photographers Cody and Josh finally chose Tom Robinson, they wanted a photographer that would capture the classic timeless family photos as well as the natural ones. Tom also offered lots of extras one of which was a photo booth.

“We're so glad we chose Tom as he was such fun on the day and so down to earth - very important to calm the nerves!”

Sean White Videography

“Sean White is just an incredible videographer. The videos are absolutely beautiful and we have both said he was worth every penny. He was always on hand with any queries and his drone was a great extra!”

A classic elegant day

A classic elegant day with lots of glass and flowers. Scorrier House is so beautiful Cody and Josh didn't want to distract from it with too many extra accessories.

“My sister is a florist and we had incredible white flowers, including lots of gypsophila with touches of blues. They were so beautiful!”

Beetham Food

Cody and Josh chose the very talented Beetham Food as their wedding caterer and all their guests mentioned how delicious the food was. Together with the help from Jamie of Beetham Food Cody and Josh designed their perfect wedding menu one that accommodated their every need.

a special mention

“The shop Bow in Falmouth needs a special mention. The owner was just wonderful when I needed help with shoes and accessories. This included the day before the wedding when I needed heel covers! She was so helpful.”

The Dress

“Elaine Rawlings Bridal was an easy choice!”

Elaine made Cody feel so special and took time to get to know Cody and her style. At no point did she ever feel rushed or limit the dresses Cody could try on.

“She even stayed super late one day so I could show the dress to my sister! She is amazing!”

"My dress was perfect"

Cody chose an Ellis Bridal dress, very classic, with big pleats and a modern twist with off the shoulder straps and pockets. To finish it off, buttons trailed all the way down the back and the train.

Elaine found the perfect wedding accessory - wedding accessories, Truro - a gorgeous beaded belt that added a touch of sparkle which Sara Yeo Alterations - bridal alterations, Truro, Cornwall Sara made the belt look as if it was a part of the original dress.

“I felt like a princess.”

Cody also had a small tiara and a plain soft tulle cathedral length veil. Her shoes were Rainbow and had a crossbow strap.

“Everything was so beautiful and pulled the look together completely.”

Favourite part of the day

“My favourite part of the day was the car journey after the church service. Sitting in the car with my new husband after having not been alone since the day before was lovely. It felt special to spend that time together and just relax with each other.

We visited a place near where we grew up which was special to us - it was where we then met up years later, aged 17, and the rest is history!

My husband tells me he agrees completely, but also he loved the evening; dancing with our friends and family.”

Top tips

“The day will come together and the tiny things really will not matter. People are there to share your day with you, not to get extra gifts and be entertained all day (they will have a great day regardless of extra games and activities!).

If you don’t have a wedding planner, which we didn't, pass on the days priorities to a trusted member of your party and leave them to it. You really will not have time as you are on cloud nine all day. Spend your day enjoying each moment, not fussing over the speeches or order of services, etc.

Get everyone involved - family love being a part of your day and they made so many special things for us.

Take at least 10 minutes as just a newly married couple as you really feel so in love and it is, after all, YOUR special day.”
